Hey, this is Cam Perish. I'm a bit of a steampunk and definitely a creative fanatic. This is the first time I've ever tried a blog, so we'll see what goes down.
The title of this blog is basically in reference to what the heck is going on in our world today (our world being America. Not a big fan of America at the moment, though we seem to be getting it under control.) It's October, the month of Seattle's annual Steamcon, something I DO (shamelessly) attend. Also it is the month that the government decided it had enough (the government being the Republicans, or as they are now being called 'tea party radicals' or just plain 'nut cases'.)
This annoys me, to be honest. President Obama said he refused to negotiate with the Republicans because it was ridiculous for one part of the government to have this power over the other or something like that, right? (please correct me if I'm wrong, or tell me exactly what he said. I heard the message this morning when I tried to access a nutrition site for my college class, and it was shut down.) Well, in my opinion, President Obama has been going off a bit on his own with the government. He's lied about a few things - Benghazi, paid abortions on Obamacare, to name a few. He's been misusing HIS power. And the whole point of checks and balances is for one part of the government to be able to say to another part 'Hey, you're a bit out of control, that's enough.' and that's what the Republicans of Congress are doing! They're not anywhere out of their boundaries.
And for those people (mostly those 'nut cases') I do have one thing to say. Here's a college kid who's not going to be spending her adult years staring at a faded poster of Obama in her parent's basement. I'm an American, and I've had enough.
